Montara Avenue Elementary
Computer Science Week is December 5-11, 2016. For the next two weeks at Montara, all students will be participating in the Hour of Code. This is a global event sponsored by code.org, a nonprofit organization dedication to bringing computer science into classrooms around the world. Their goal is to give all students the chance to learn the fundamentals of computer science, particularly focusing on providing the opportunities to girls and minorities, both of whom are underrepresented in the professional field of computer science.
It is so exciting for us to be taking part in this global event, and to be providing the chance for ALL students at Montara to "get their feet wet" in computer science. No matter what career they choose to pursue in the future, they will be somehow
